Singapore, 29th September 2009 - Agility Fairs & Events has secured a multimillion dollar contract to manage the on-site logistics for ITMA, the International Exhibition of Textile Machinery, the world’s largest and most established textile machinery exhibition, to be held in Barcelona in 2011.

“This is a landmark win for Agility to handle the on-site logistics management for the world’s most prestigious textile machinery event. It demonstrates the strength of our global network in that we were able to build on our success in securing the first two ITMA Asia exhibitions,  which were held in Singapore, to secure the contract for this world leading event in Spain,” said Nat Wong , President of Agility Fairs & Events Logistics.

Considered the ‘Olympics’ of textile machinery exhibitions, ITMA is held every four years. It was launched in 1951 and the Barcelona exhibition will be its 16th international event. The contract was awarded by MP International, the exhibition organiser appointed by CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers.

“Agility demonstrated that they have the experience and expertise to manage a global event of this scale and we are confident that they will deliver first class solutions to the exhibitors at the event,” said Sylvia Phua, Chief Executive Officer of MP International.

ITMA will be held at the new Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue from September 22-29, 2011.
