São Paulo, Brazil, 11 November, 2013 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain management companies, today announced a three year contract with Terex, a global manufacturer of lifting and material handling equipment for use in industries including construction, infrastructure, quarrying, mining, shipping, transportation, energy, refining, utilities and manufacturing.
CEVA will manage the company’s integrated hub for parts distribution at a 1,430 sq m area located in Barueri, in the São Paulo region. Services include the entire flow of receipt, checking, storage, orders picking process, packaging and the expedited shipping of approximately 15,000 spare parts necessary to support Terex distributors and customers.
In addition, CEVA will manage the distribution of Terex®, Genie® and Demag® products throughout Brazil. Specifically for the management of the company’s transportation activities, CEVA has developed interfaces between the system used by Terex with the CEVA Matrix™ Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage parts distribution.
“We are a customer focused company, and rapid order response is critical to customer satisfaction levels, which is why we made a substantial investment in the creation of the Terex Integrated Center of Parts Distribution (CIDP) with CEVA,” said Rodrigo Zandonadi Schmidt, Manager, Parts Operations and Sales for Terex Latin America. “We already have a strong relationship with CEVA in the Netherlands and we are pursuing the same success here. CEVA is a good company for us to work with in providing world class logistics for our products, parts and services in Brazil.”
The primary goal for Terex is to improve agility in the order delivery process by dispatching 95% of the parts within 24 hours after receipt of the order. “We are absolutely prepared to meet this demand. Our proven reliability and understanding of supply chain management, as well as our reputation for innovative solutions will no doubt help us build a strong, long term relationship with Terex in the Brazilian market,” says Paulo Correia, CEVA’s Regional Sales Manager for Brazil.
