CEVA holds seventh annual Transportation Convention in Brazil

E-mail

São Paulo, Brazil, 01 June 2010 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, will hold its seventh annual Transportation Convention recognizing the Company’s top suppliers. The event will take place at AMCHAM, on 10 June at 7:00 p.m. where approximately 200 partners, employees and guests are expected to attend.

The awards recognize those suppliers that continuously delivered excellence and superior performance when partnering with CEVA’s ground transportation arm, CEVA Ground, which was launched in 2009. More than 130 transportation partners participate in the contest.

The 15 finalists are nominated by CEVA based on their ability to respond to the challenges of the company’s diversified logistic operations, the degree to which they meet the SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and their commercial and competitive best practices.

These 15 finalists are grouped into five categories based on company size. The finalists are evaluated on infrastructure, fleet conditions, quality of operations and commitment to the environment. One winner will be selected from each of the five categories.

"This award is our way of recognizing and encouraging our partners to increasingly seek excellence in the services they provide," highlights Ricardo Melchiori, Operations Director of CEVA Ground for South America.

Additionally, companies that excelled in the areas of Sustainability and Productivity will also be awarded. These are specific awards that can be given to any transporter, regardless of category.

The Productivity Award, also known as the “Engineer Amaral” award, was created in 2007 in honor of João Luiz do Amaral, a former logistics advisor of the National Association of Logistics and Load Transportation (NTC & Logística) who passed away in December 2006. Amaral championed integration between logistics operators and transportation companies to promote best practice in logistics.
