ATLANTA – December 6, 2013 - Dennis Bridges, the founder and executive director of eTruckerTax, has announced a nation-wide initiative to save over $1 million in income taxes for at least 2,014 drivers and logistics professionals for the coming 2014 tax filing season.
The initiative will be known officially as the “2014 Truckers Million Dollar Tax Cut”. Bridges is quick to add that he hopes to help many more than 2,014 taxpayers, and also that he hopes to save them much more than a million dollars in taxes. On average, this minimum goal would mean savings of nearly $500.00 per driver or logistics professional.
Dennis Bridges has been in practice as a CPA in Atlanta for over 25 years. But for the past 20 years, he has specialized in cutting income taxes for drivers and logistics workers in every state including Alaska and Hawaii. Bridges has been a frequent speaker at transportation events and at trade shows throughout the U.S.
Bridges says that the single best step that a driver or other logistics professional can take towards lowering their annual income tax bill is to use a preparer that specializes in these areas. “Seek out a preparer that specializes in transportation and logistics. If nothing else, ask for a referral from a fellow worker whose situation is similar to yours.”
“There’s just way too much tax law out there for every preparer to be an expert in more than one or two areas. Our expertise just happens to be in transportation and logistics.”
To help uncover overlooked deductions for clients in transportation and logistics, Bridges created his very own “E-Z Tax Checklist for Truckers”. “People tell us all the time they wish they’d had our checklist several years ago!”, Bridges says.
When asked why he is exerting this massive effort specifically in behalf of long-haul drivers and other logistics professionals, Bridges answers with a heartfelt response: “Our military and public safety personnel are our national heroes, as well they should be. But the men and women that get everything we use into our stores and offices and homes are the heroes of our economy. It’s thanks to them that we barely got through this past economic struggle. They deserve to be recognized and appreciated for the sacrifice they made.”
