New hires include:
Craig Brace, vice president, Asset Management, Americas – Bringing more than 17 years of real estate experience to Exel, Brace leads the company’s North American Asset Management team. In the future, Brace will also have responsibility for Latin America . He will be relocating to Columbus , Ohio .
Claudius Christmas Jr., vice president, Global Support Functions, Americas – Christmas joins the IT leadership team to help support human resource and finance IT strategies globally and regionally. He also supports the company’s enterprise resource planning environment. Christmas resides in Columbus , Ohio .
Steve Guthrie, vice president, Business Development, Americas – In his new position, Guthrie is responsible for maximizing the performance of business development with current and potential customers in the Technology, Aerospace and Service Logistics industries. He brings more than 25 years of logistics experience to Exel. He resides in Atlanta , Ga.
Tom Kimball, vice president and head of global consumer sector –Kimball joined the company as vice president and head of the global consumer sector. He previously spent more than 22 years with Kraft Foods, where he held a variety of roles in logistics and manufacturing. He also worked internationally in Toronto , Canada and Zurich , Switzerland . Tom is a graduate of The Ohio State University and resides in Galena , Ohio .
Steve Micheli, vice president, Operations, Inbound to Manufacturing, Americas – Micheli has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of operational and leadership roles. At Exel, he implements improvement and quality assurance techniques, financial management and operational execution. He resides in Powell , Ohio .
Jim Saponaro, vice president, Operations, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Americas – Saponaro joins Exel after running his own consulting business, where he specialized in supply chain optimization, and 14 years in leadership roles with Cardinal Health. In his new position, he is responsible for Life Sciences and Healthcare operations in North America . Jim will relocate to Mechanicsburg , Penn.
Fred Leffler, associate general counsel, Americas – Leffler provides legal counsel to several Exel’s business units. Additionally, he drafts and negotiates commercial contracts, as well as sector-related mergers and acquisitions, and other contracts seeking to minimize risk and maximize corporate opportunities. He works out of Exel’s North American headquarters in Westerville , Ohio .
Elaine Darr, senior legal counsel, Americas – Darr will fulfill the legal needs of the real estate and procurement teams in North America . She has extensive experience in all facets of real estate including development, acquisitions, leasing and financing. She resides in Galena , Ohio .

Dave Ames, vice president, Talent Management – With a strong track record in recruiting, Ames has been promoted to vice president, talent management. In this role, he is charged with all exempt-level recruiting and college recruiting in North America, and the organizational capability group that coordinates the performance management, development and succession planning processes for the Americas region. Dave resides in Lewis Center, Ohio.
Shelly Cihak, senior director, Account Management – Cihak has been promoted to the role of senior director. In this expanded role, she now manages the company’s global relationship with one of its largest consumer packaged goods customers. She resides in Denver , Colo.
Ted Valin, senior director, Finance – Ted Valin has been promoted to senior director of finance for Exel’s Automotive, Engineering & Manufacturing, Chemicals and Energy business unit. During his tenure at Exel, Valin has provided valuable leadership and financial support to multiple large customer accounts. He resides in Gahanna , Ohio .
