Exel Expands Relationship With Chrysler To Provide Dedicated Delivery Service, Loading Services In St. Louis

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (Jan. 7, 2010) – Exel, the North American leader in supply chain management and a Deutsche Post DHL company, announced it will provide dedicated delivery services to dealers serviced by Chrysler LLC’s Mopar® Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in St. Louis, Mo. Mopar is the original equipment parts manufacturer and distributor for Chrysler LLC.

Exel will deliver Mopar parts to Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge dealers in Missouri , Kansas , Illinois , Indiana and Kentucky . In addition, Exel’s services will include packing parts into protective containers and loading trailers.

Exel’s centralized delivery service support team utilizes a suite of proprietary fleet technology solutions — such as electronic proof-of-delivery, wireless communications and scheduling applications — in addition to effective fleet management to drive efficiencies and optimize delivery routes.

“By delivering the right parts on time, every time, we will help Chrysler dealerships in five states provide excellent customer service while ensuring cost-effective operations,” said John Aben, Exel’s director of business development for the automotive industry. “We have worked with Chrysler for more than 20 years to provide dedicated delivery solutions, and we look forward to serving the St. Louis operation. We’re also proud to be providing packing and loading services to Chrysler for the first time in our long relationship.” 

The new contract will create an estimated 26 jobs in St. Louis including drivers, supervisors and routers. Exel now provides dedicated delivery services to seven Mopar PDCs in the United States .
