Growth & expanded service offerings prompts need for larger warehousing & transportation facility

ATLANTA, MAY 23, 2012 – Kuehne + Nagel, one of the world’s leading global logistics services providers, has signed a contract with Duke Realty to develop a larger state of the art logistics center in Atlanta. Positioned at a major transportation hub, the Atlanta location serves as an integrated global logistics gateway for Kuehne + Nagel. In 2013, the company and its 300 employees will move from its current location in Forest Park, GA.

The new 211,000-square-foot, built-to-suit office and logistics facility will be located in the Camp Creek Business Center, located off I-285 and Camp Creek Parkway, approximately three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. “Kuehne + Nagel’s expansion in Atlanta stems from the need for additional space to accommodate growth in demand for our company’s services. It also reflects the outstanding work that our logistics professionals have delivered, assisting our clients in navigating today’s challenging economic waters," said Juergen Gentzke, Kuehne + Nagel’s Regional Vice President.

The company will more than double its square footage with the relocation in 2013. The new logistics center will feature bonded class 3 warehousing space, consolidation and de-consolidation services; customs brokerage, and TSA security screening. It will also have a secure cage for high-value cargo, a 1000 square-foot temperature controlled space to accommodate the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry, and special cargo equipment to handle oversized products like vehicles and engines.
