Logwin is well positioned to expand its own business opportunities in South Korea’s fashion logistics market

Seoul - South Korea, October 31 2011 - The Korean fashion industry is set for dramatic growth following a survey published by the Korea Fashion Association and the Korea Federation of Textile Industries.

This will result in corresponding demand for fashion logistics services according to Logwin, a leader in global logistics services with a strong focus in the fashion and lifestyle industry.

According to the survey, South Korea’s fashion market will reach more than US$30bn in 2011, growth of 14.2 per cent compared to 2010. While the survey also forecast 30 per cent growth in sportswear and outerwear for the same period.

“This growth is a result of Korean designers breaking through into markets all over the world,” said Marc Wijnen, Director Logistics at the Logwin business segment Air + Ocean after the successful Korean Fashion Week held October 19th-22nd.

“South Korea’s renaissance as a leading fashion hub for Asia Pacific has been dramatic in recent years,” he added.

Logwin has seen in the last years that the fashion and lifestyle sector is driven by increasing globalization and the demand of logistics services grows particularly in emerging markets. “We see a dramatic increase in demand for warehousing and transport services within the emerging markets in Asia particularly for premium European and US fashion and lifestyle products,” Marc Wijnen added. “Also we see Asian premium brands expanding their sales outside of Asia in Europe, North America and the Middle East.”

Logwin enhances the entire flow of fashion and lifestyle goods from production to point-of-sale, providing customers with a complete logistics solution. Further to this the logistics service provider delivers international air and ocean transport and offers its AirTextainer packaging as well as its Garment-on-Hanger service and flat pack-transportation for its fashion and lifestyle customers. Based on its own locations and in cooperation with competent partners, Logwin for example operates the largest network for hanging garments in Europe and guarantees seamless intercontinental connections.

According the Economist Intelligence Unit the fashion and apparel market in Asia and Australia will see average demand growth of 5 per cent through 2014.
