Malaysia, November 21st 2011 - Logwin launched its premium fashion logistics product called „red carpet logistics‟ in Kuala Lumpur as the first step in an Asia-wide roll out.
The service will combine the transport of high-end fashion and lifestyle labels to, from and within Asia, with dedicated warehouse facilities. The first dedicated logistics facility in Asia was opened in Shah Alam in Malaysia. In this location Logwin launched red carpet logistics with the full range of dedicated services, from transportation to logistics solutions for high-end fashion customers. In the next phase of the roll out Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai will come „on line‟.
Director Logistics of Logwin‟s business segment Air + Ocean Marc Wijnen said the red carpet logistics (RCL) concept was aimed at capturing growing demand for premium European brands in Asia and involved a significant investment.
“This product will primarily focus on these kinds of labels going into Asia, and on the Asian premium brands going to Europe, Australia and the US,” Wijnen said.
“Red carpet logistics will be our new fashion product and the way we want to position ourselves in the market. We proverbially roll out the red carpet for our customers and their high-end fashion and lifestyle labels,” Helmut Kaspers, COO of the business segment Air + Ocean at Logwin added.
Handling logistics at the top end of the business is a niche market with complex requirements. These products need specific service because they do not have the ability to generate profits from volume. Their real value lies in their exclusivity. Logwin offers a comprehensive range of dedicated services to meet the demand of its clients and their products.
“We have recruited people from the fashion and lifestyle industry to fine-tune the product and ensure we speak the same language as our clients,” Kaspers said.
Understanding that language is crucial, because the items being transported across the world are not only exclusive and costly, they are time sensitive, as well. This adds to the complexity of their handling.
The fashion and lifestyle sector is driven by increasing globalization and the demand of logistics services grows even in emerging markets. Logwin is forecasting a dramatic increase in demand for warehousing and transport services within the emerging markets in Asia particularly for premium European and US fashion and lifestyle products. Also there are more Asian premium brands expanding their sales outside of Asia in Europe, North America and the Middle East.
As a result of this trend Logwin‟s strategy for the future is to strengthen its leading position in the fashion and lifestyle logistics sector and expanding its service offering across Asia to better reach fashion brands in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Mainland China as well as Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Australia.
