Ahmedabad, India, September 24, 2012 - Logwin, a global leader in air and ocean freight and logistics services, has opened a new sales office in Ahmedabad, the largest city of Gujarat State in western India.
“The new sales office will mean that we can build our customer base in this economically vibrant city. We have the in-country expertise across a range of industries to deliver world class logistics services locally. Through our international air and ocean freight network, we can support the growing number of local exporters and importers who access new markets in Europe and around the world,” said Vijay Nair, Country Director of Logwin in India.

The Logwin sales office in Ahmedabad is managed by Anup Ramdas, Branch Manager of Mumbai and western India, which also includes Pune. He has many years of experience in management and in the freight and logistics sector in India.
Ahmedabad was ranked as the third fastest growing city in the world in 2010 by Forbes magazine and Gujarat, with a population of 60 million people, has some of the largest businesses in India. Major industries include textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, cement, oil refineries and chemicals.
Logwin will be focusing on expanding its business in Ahmedabad’s textile sector to provide a range of freight and logistics services for local and international shippers. The company is also aiming to secure new business in the machinery, pharmaceuticals and chemicals sector.
The Gujarat State Government has implemented ‘business friendly’ policies which have attracted multinational companies from all over the world. Logwin will be looking to establish a foothold in the state in order to tap into the existing and future business opportunities.
The State government’s pro-business policies have attracted many leading brands including Tata, Reliance and General Motors. The state also has Asia’s largest petroleum refinery at Jamnagar and is world’s largest producer of castor, cumin and processed diamonds and the third largest denim producer.
