Chicago, September 4, 2014 - Total Quality Logistics (TQL) is pleased to announce that Feeding America is the next recipient of a $1,000 donation from the TQL Moves that Matter program. Feeding America is the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Its mission is to feed America’s hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks, and to engage the country in the fight to end hunger.
“TQL has been moving loads of food for Feeding America for many years and we were pleased that their TQL account executive nominated them to receive this donation,” said TQL Executive Vice President, Kerry Byrne. TQL’s new Moves that Matter program was sparked by the company’s experience arranging for the pickup and delivery of playgrounds for the Where Angels Play Foundation.
“We move more than 20,000 loads of freight a week and many of these loads directly or indirectly benefit deserving non-profit organizations across the country. The Moves that Matter program allows us to publicly recognize these organizations, support their efforts in our communities, and encourage everyone in the transportation industry to take pride in the work they do,” said Byrne.
The Where Angels Play Foundation was the first recipient of a donation from TQL -- $5,000 to assist in the construction of 26 playgrounds built in memory of each of the 26 victims of the 2012 shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The next was Rescue Bank, a Houston-based organization that provides pet food to animal rescue and rehabilitation groups.
