CBP Offers Online Participation for Annual Trade Symposium

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 - Washington — U.S. Customs and Border Protection is expanding participation to its annual trade symposium by offering a live webcast of the symposium events. It will allow participants to view and interactively participate in the trade symposium online.

Registration for webcasting will be held separately around mid-October. The cost will be $35. As an added feature, participants who pay to attend the trade symposium onsite or purchase the live webcast will also be provided with complimentary on-demand access via the Internet to the webcast for thirty days.

Registration for the onsite symposium will open on October 1 at 12 noon Eastern Time.

Onsite participants are requested to identify in the registration their top three preferred break-out sessions. These sessions will be scheduled according to demand. Some sessions may not be offered if there is insufficient interest. The breakout sessions are:

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the CBP trade symposium. The general theme is A Decade of Progress through Partnership. “This symposium continues to be an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with our trade partners, share accomplishments, discuss new initiatives and further our common goals of trade security and facilitation,” said Acting Commissioner Ahern.
