Shows Will Remain Co-located through 2013 at Houston
CALVERTON, MD. – ARLINGTON, VA., Sept. 25, 2012 – The Intermodal Association of North America and The National Industrial Transportation League announced today their joint decision to discontinue the co-location of NITL’s TransComp Exhibition and IANA’s Intermodal Expo. The events will re-launch as separate tradeshows at different venues beginning in 2014. The two shows will remain co-located in 2013 and will be held on Nov. 11-13 in Houston, Texas.
Both associations have worked together over the last 10 years to make the two tradeshows outstanding events. The decision to re-launch them individually in 2014 was made due to the increasing complexity of managing two simultaneous events. IANA and NITL mutually determined that this change in the business model is in the best interests of both associations and their respective members. The shows will be held together for the last time in 2013 in Houston, Texas based on arrangements and commitments that have been in place for several years.
According to NITL president and CEO Bruce Carlton, “We are making this announcement now out of respect for our loyal exhibitors, many of whom plan to exhibit years in advance. They deserve as much lead time as possible to make some important decisions related to 2014 and beyond.” Joni Casey, IANA president and CEO added, “IANA and NITL want to emphasize to exhibitors and attendees alike that we will produce the same high quality events in 2012 and 2013 that you have come to expect from us year-after-year. It’s business as usual until 2014.”
The 2014 IANA Intermodal Expo will be held Sept. 21-23 in Long Beach, California, and the 2014 NITL TransComp Exhibition will take place Nov. 14-19 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
