The Lindsay E. Fox Scholarship Supports Graduate Education in Intermodal Transportation Management at ITI
DENVER, CO, May 7, 2012 – Linfox Australia Pty., Ltd., and ITI are pleased to announce the establishment of the Lindsay E. Fox Scholarship at the University of Denver. The Lindsay E. Fox Scholarship will support graduate education in intermodal transportation management at the Intermodal Transportation Institute’s executive masters program at the University.
Mr. Lindsay E. Fox is the founder of Fox Group Holdings and Linfox Logistics. The son of a truck driver, Fox bought his first truck in 1956 and began the Linfox business. Today, Linfox is one of the largest transportation and warehousing groups in Australia and the Asia Pacific Region, operating more than 5,000 vehicles and 3.2 million square meters of warehouse space across 10 countries. This activity employs more than 18,500 people.
Linfox is a very strong advocate of education. Its Linfox College offers employees a vast range of learning opportunities, from self administered online courses to executive management courses at some of the world’s top business schools. “At Linfox we offer employees many learning opportunities and encourage our staff to get out there and improve their learning,” says Fox.
Lindsay Fox was elected to membership on the ITI Board of Directors in 2001 and served until July 2010, when he was elected to ITI Board Emeritus status. Board emeritus status is a life-time, honorary recognition of the time, effort, and support given to ITI and its programs as a member of the board.
ITI is a key learning center on Linfox College’s senior management curriculum. Linfox is a strong supporter of the ITI Executive Masters Program and 14 Linfox employees have been matriculated into the program since its inception in 2002. In fact, Linfox’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Byrne, is an ITI graduate, Class of 2003, and currently serves on the ITI Board of Directors.
Founded in 1997, the Intermodal Transportation Institute, in partnership with the transportation industry, offers an executive masters program for working professionals to help prepare the next generation of senior management for the intermodal transportation industry. The Lindsay E. Fox Scholarship will be used to support the growth and diversity of participation in the ITI graduate program. ITI is currently recruiting for its 11th graduate class, which will start in the fall of 2012. Fox will be recognized and the Fox Scholarship awardee will be announced at the October meeting of the ITI Board of Directors on the University of Denver Campus.
