LBQA Sister City Association - 13th Annual Luncheon Honoring Consul General Zhang Yun and Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of China With Keynote Speaker Mr. Patrick Mulcahy, Team China/California LLC Friday, December 4th, 2009 at the Long Beach Hilton Hotel – 11:30 – 1:30 pm

LONG BEACH, CA – The Long Beach Qingdao Sister City Association will hold its 13th Annual LBQA Luncheon, Friday, December 4th, 2009 at the Long Beach Hilton Hotel, 11:30 – 1:30 pm. This year the LBQA will be honoring Zhang Yun Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China’s in Los Angeles ,celebrating the 6oth Anniversary of China. Keynote Patrick D. Mulcahy of Team China will speak on the changing markets for Chinese and American businesses and what is next on the horizon.

“Ambassador Zhang Yun continues to be a strong supporter of LBQA and has done much to open new avenues of culture and business between the U.S. and China,” states Mr. David Zanatta, President of LBQA. “Together with the Ambassador, his staff and our LBQA sponsors (listed below), we have grown our membership and programs, while strengthening our City’s relationship with Qingdao, now one of the largest ports in N.E. Asia.”

Each year this luncheon sells out, becoming one of the premier events for the Association and its membership. Early reservations are recommended.. Keynote speaker Patrick D. Mulcahy, President, Team China/California LLC. will speak on China and what American businesses need to know about the changing business climate between China and the U.S. Mr. Mulcahy has more than two decades of experience in China in the management of joint venture agreements, international finance, and engineering of infrastructure projects, import/export and China market expansion strategies for USA equipment and technologies. Through his many associations, he has developed strategic partners in Beijing, Jilin Province, Shanghai, Shenyang and Chengdu, Sichuan. Mr. Mulcahy’s topic will be: China - 300 million new buyers ... “What do they need from us?”

The Long Beach Qingdao Sister City Association has enjoyed both Sister City and Sister Port relationships for more than 24 years. It serves as a link between the two port cities and works to facilitate and develop better communication through business, cultural and educational programs. LBQA will be celebrating its 25th year as a sister city with Qingdao next year. The LBQA continues to develop scholarships and exchange programs for students and teachers and to facilitate business and trade related opportunities and cultural events in order to bring the southland closer to the city of Qingdao and other cities in China. With a goal of fostering good will between the U.S. and China, the Association strives to promote the highest ideals of friendship, tolerance and human understanding in light of the cultural differences and rich heritages of both countries.
