CHICAGO — (James Street Media Services)—The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS), one of five regional associations under the umbrella of the North American Rail Shippers Association, will host its Summer Meeting on Monday and Tuesday, July 8–9 at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
The theme for the 2013 summer meeting is “Riding the Rails to Economic Recovery.” Speakers and presentations will explore a number of industry segments including housing, retail, energy, and short line railroads, as well as outlooks on the economy and legislation.
“The MARS semi-annual meetings are known for their timely topics and expert presenters—and this meeting will be no exception,” said MARS President Lisa Longtin. “We will have informative sessions, with time for networking and sharing ways to make our industry stronger.”
Monday’s schedule features the traditional Scholarship Golf Outing and reception. A full-day business meeting will follow on Tuesday. Networking tables will be available for distribution of company literature.
