Opening Session Features Key Freight Issues Analyzed by Transportation Leaders
ARLINGTON, VA–CALVERTON, MD–ALEXANDRIA, VA, Sept. 15, 2010 – The most highly- anticipated freight transportation event in North America will be held Nov. 14-16, 2010 when The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL), the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA), and the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) hold their co-located conferences at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Over 2,000 senior freight transportation and logistics executives 200+ exhibitors are expected to attend the 2010 event that features the NITL TransComp Exhibition, IANA Intermodal Expo, and TIA Fall Meeting. The event also includes the NITL and IANA annual membership meetings. Following is the run-down of this year’s informative Opening General Session and Super Sessions:
Industry Insight on Freight Transportation: Viewpoint from the CEO’s Office (Opening Session)
During this year’s opening general session, leadership of some of the world’s most well-known freight transportation companies will provide attendees with thought-provoking insight on industry issues and trends. This interactive town hall-style session will feature dynamic leaders from the highway, rail and water carrier sectors, including: Christopher B. Lofgren, President and Chief Executive Officer, Schneider National, Inc.; Matthew K. Rose, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, BNSF Railway Company; and, Michael J. White, President, North America, Maersk Line.
Getting to Green – Are We There Yet? (Super Session)
The freight transportation industry is at the center of the great green debate on sustainability. This session will highlight the key issues driving this debate now and share lies ahead so you can make a well-informed decision on sustainability. It will show how shippers, carriers and other key players along the supply chain are bringing green solutions inside their decision-making processes.
Global Supply Chain Transportation Requirements for the Next Decade (Super Session)
The freight transportation landscape continues to evolve, and shippers have many new requirements for their transportation providers. The emerging economies of China and India, a “new” Panama Canal, and “closer to home” product sourcing will change the freight transportation landscape.
