Recipients comprise top one percent of carriers, providing Schneider Logistics’ customers with outstanding service

GREEN BAY, Wis. (Aug. 21, 2013) — Earlier this week, Schneider Logistics, Inc., a leading logistics provider and part of the Schneider National enterprise, hosted its 11th annual Carrier Recognition Conference in Green Bay, Wis. More than 240 representatives from the top 10 percent of Schneider Logistics’ contracted carriers attended this year’s event, which was held Tuesday at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. The conference recognized 17 transportation companies with Schneider Logistics’ top honors, including Carrier of the Year, Customer Service Representative of the Year and Newcomer of the Year awards.

The Carrier of the Year distinction is presented to Schneider Logistics third-party carriers that serve a variety of transportation modes and excel in service and communication while honoring capacity commitments safely for multiple Schneider Logistics’ customers. Carriers recognized at this year’s conference represent the top one percent of service providers moving freight on behalf of Schneider Logistics for its customers. Because of its affiliation with Schneider Logistics, Schneider National is not eligible for consideration in any category.

2013 Schneider Logistics Carrier of the Year winners include:
• Bulk: Usher Transport, Inc.
• Dedicated: Air Contract Transport/Overnight Ground Force Systems
• Flatbed: G&D Transportation and M&C Trucking
• LTL: Standard Forwarding, Southeastern Freight Line, Holland and Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.
• Truckload: Millis Transfer Inc., Sue Vinje Trucking, Inc., Raven Transport, Ryan Transportation Group
• Intermodal: JB Hunt Transport Inc. and Triple Crown Service Company

Schneider Transportation Management, Schneider’s brokerage arm, selected Keystone Freight Corporation as its Carrier of the Year.

Schneider Logistics also recognized a single customer service representative who excels at interacting with the Schneider Logistics Customer Service teams with the Customer Service Representative of the Year award. Written nominations from each team were submitted, and the award was presented to Shantina Jordan from Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc.

Schneider debuted a new award this year. The Newcomer of the Year award recognizes a high-performing provider that has established a relationship with Schneider Logistics during the last 18 months and is focused on safety, provides creative solutions to customers and goes above and beyond in the call of duty. Progistics Distribution was selected as the first winner of the Newcomer of the Year Award.

This year’s event featured speakers Bob Costello, chief economist for the American Trucking Associations; Scott Group, senior transportation analyst for Wolfe Trahan, and Dave Carey, Vietnam prisoner of war and author of The Ways We Choose: Lessons for Life from a POW’s Experience. Experts from across the industry also contributed to a panel discussion on the North American Energy Revolution. The panelists included Virgil Vincent, chief operations officer with Green Field Energy Services; Frank Love, president and chief operations officer of Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores; Len Copeland, national account executive with Daimler Trucks North America; and Steve Graham, vice president, Linehaul Purchasing, at Schneider National.

In addition to the Carrier Recognition Event, a charity golf outing was held Wednesday benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. In total, Schneider Logistics was able to raise $11,500 for the organization through a contribution from the Schneider National Foundation and those who participated in the golf outing.
