As the Only Association of Its Kind, TMCA Aims to Help Attendees ‘Rise from the Ashes’
PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ – March 31, 2010 – Featuring educational sessions such as “How to Sell and Market Internationally” and “Sales: It’s No Longer All About the Donuts and Ballgames,” the agenda for the upcoming Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) Annual Conference and Marketing Expo reflects a changing industry with new priorities and demands. Themed “Rising from the Ashes: Sales and Marketing Driving Recovery,” the event will take place June 6-8, 2010, at the Marriott Harbor Beach Fort Lauderdale Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
TMCA is the only association serving transportation marketing, sales, and communications professionals in all modes and market segments of the North American transportation industry, including motor carriers, railroads, air carriers, ocean lines, 3PLs, OEMs, passenger transit organizations, media, and suppliers. Through TMCA, members grow professionally, broaden their industry network, become educated on new sales, marketing and communications trends and issues, and become more productive and valuable to their organizations.
This year, TMCA has widened its focus to include a greater emphasis on sales in an effort to welcome former members of the Transportation Sales and Marketing Association (TSMA). For the first time ever, TMCA will introduce the Sales Executive of the Year Award, which will follow in the tradition of TMCA’s Transportation Marketing Executive of the Year Award in recognizing a senior-level executive who has demonstrated quality and results-driven success within the past year.
“TMCA will further help sales, marketing and communications practitioners acquire the skills needed to make their companies and personal careers better,” said Dick Metzler, President of TMCA. “With a particular emphasis on sales, attendees will walk away from the Annual Conference with a better sense of the newly-energized TMCA, which stands ready to provide more critical tools needed to drive recovery.”
To kick off the Conference, John Boyens of the Boyens Group® will deliver the keynote address. As the founder of the Boyens Group, his experience runs the gamut from a corporate sales and marketing leader to research of over 15,000 salespeople and sales managers worldwide. Boyens has addressed thousands of business executives throughout his career as well as authored several audio CD series and a book titled Creating a Productive Selling Zone®.
Winners of the 58th Annual Compass Awards will also be revealed. The Compass Awards recognize the best in marketing and communications within the transportation, logistics and passenger transit industries. Winners are recognized as setting the standards for best practices in the transportation and logistics industries.
