Cronin Brings More Than 40 Years of Supply Chain Experience and Leadership
DENVER — May 11, 2009— Fluensee, a leading provider of RFID-enabled asset tracking and management solutions, today announced that supply chain industry veteran Gregory Cronin was appointed to the company’s board of directors. Cronin brings with him more than 40 years of experience in warehousing, logistics and supply chain technology, and currently holds the position of executive vice president at Seegrid Corporation, the premier provider of affordable, efficient industrial mobile robots for the material handling industry.
"We are extremely pleased to have Greg join our board," said Tim Harvie, president and chief executive officer of Fluensee. "He brings a tremendous amount of experience in the areas of RFID, asset management and supply chain solutions. As Fluensee continues to focus on the expansion of asset management, inventory management and yard management within the transportation, distribution and logistics industries, Greg’s vision, expertise and vast professional network will be of tremendous value to both our company and our customers."
Before his current position at Seegrid, Cronin was the president and chief executive officer and founder of TrenStar, the first mobile asset management company with a recurring revenue business model. While at TrenStar, Cronin grew revenues to more than $60 million and was among the first companies to incorporate RFID technology as a significant differentiator. Under Cronin’s leadership, TrenStar was successful in delivering mobile asset management solutions to the food, brewing, chemical, automotive, air cargo and healthcare industries.
Cronin founded Viewlocity, considered by supply chain industry experts to be the origin of the Supply Chain Event Management (SCEM) space. While at Viewlocity, he also introduced the industry’s first collaborative trading community products that provided inventory management, shipment processing, order visibility and exception monitoring to companies. Cronin came to Viewlocity from Manhattan Associates where as executive vice president he helped the Warehouse Management System (WMS) company become an industry leader, and contributed to Manhattan’s successful initial public offering. Before Manhattan Associates, Cronin was at Red Prairie, a warehouse, transportation and retail software company, where he held the position of president and chief operating officer. Cronin’s operational background includes experience in international logistics and material handling with Mitsui & Company and Todd Logistics International, a third party logistics (3PL) company.
"RFID helps organizations automate their operations, and combined with asset management software, the technology provides a level of asset visibility that truly saves companies time and money," Cronin said. "Fluensee plays a unique role in shaping the impact that RFID-enabled asset management technology has on business and the supply chain, and I’m excited to join Fluensee’s board to be a part of the team that is making a significant difference to businesses."
In addition to Cronin, Fluensee’s board of directors consists of Tim Harvie, Fluensee president and chief executive officer; Chris Brumett, Fluensee chief operating officer; Rob Schultz, IllinoisVENTURES senior director; Blair Garrou, DFJ Mercury managing director; and Bruce Finks, Country Financial vice president.
