Global Supply Chain Council presents award following successful deployment of Manhattan SCALE by leading third-party logistics provider in China
SHANGHAI and ATLANTA — December 3, 2009 — Global supply chain optimization provider Manhattan Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANH) has been named 'Best Supply Chain IT Solution Provider in Asia' by a committee of industry professionals from the Global Supply Chain Council. Manhattan Associates received the award for the deployment of its market-leading solution, Manhattan SCALE™: Supply Chain Architected for Logistics Execution (formerly known as Manhattan ILS) at client Tingtong Logistics, one of China's foremost third-party logistics providers. Manhattan SCALE has helped Tingtong Logistics to significantly increase operational efficiency and deliver impressive cost savings following deployment of the solution at the first 31 of a total of 58 sites across China.
Roger Chou, IT Director, Tingtong Logistics, commented, "In a relatively short space of time, Manhattan Associates has built an outstanding service capability in China as well as across the rest of Asia. This was demonstrated throughout the course of our project by the depth of their consultants' technical expertise. This was a critical component to the project's success. As our business grows, Manhattan SCALE will grow with us, extending our capabilities and allowing us to process higher product volumes as well as refine picking accuracy and labour productivity while decreasing operational costs."
Each year, the CHaINA awards recognise the importance of supply chain, procurement and logistics excellence by identifying and rewarding outstanding performance among leading manufacturers, retailers, service providers and key individuals working in Asia. The 2009 event was hosted at the Shanghai Renaissance Zhongshan Park Hotel.
Jeff Baum, Manhattan Associates' senior vice president, International (Asia Pacific), commented, "We're honoured to have won this key industry award, and I would like to thank the Manhattan team for the professionalism and commitment consistently shown over the years in working with our clients to help them shape world-class supply chains across China and the wider Asia-Pacific region. I would also like to thank Roger Chou and the team at Tingtong Logistics for supporting our application for this prestigious award, and congratulate them in making the Manhattan SCALE roll-out to their sites across China such a resounding success."
