Porto Editora is building a brand new automated distribution centre in Maia (Portugal) and will rely on innovative KNAPP technology for its realization.
Together with Porto Editora, KNAPP as general contractor and Miebach Consulting S.A. developed a future-oriented logistics concept tailored to perfectly suit the requirements of the customer. The project will be implemented in two stages and includes the warehouse management system KiSoft WMS, a four-line automated high-bay pallet storage system, a six-line stacker crane system based on the goods-to-man principle, paperless picking technologies such as Pick-to-Light and Pick-by-Voice as well as the control of stacker crane systems, container and pallet conveyor systems. The customer will benefit especially from KNAPP’s many years of experience in design, planning, manufacturing, installation, startup and service.
