Anoka, MN—December 15, 2008—Hoffman announces the T1FLO™ Type 1 Vented Indoor Enclosure, an innovative thermal management solution that provides a built-in fan and filter to keep heat-sensitive drives and controls cool and protected. T1FLO features an active cooling ventilation system with a factory-installed fan (115 VAC), vent, filter and thermostat, saving significant time and costs over conventional modified-enclosure solutions.
Traditionally, fan and filter packages involved more than a simple enclosure selection: customers first chose a suitable enclosure size, composition and style, then selected the appropriate fan and airflow for the application. The modifications, installation and evaluation needed upon the enclosure’s completion made developing a complete solution an extensive—and expensive—process. Unlike competitive thermal packages, T1FLO delivers an off-the-shelf standard product with various airflow and enclosure size options available at the same price point—meeting a broad variety of applications with no cutting or fan installation and mounting required.
Hoffman developed this uniquely standardized product to control internal enclosure temperatures in some of the most challenging plant environments, ensuring components such as drives, PLCs, power supplies and transformers can reside in the same enclosure without overheating. T1FLO offers rugged 14 gauge steel construction for enhanced durability—with solid or perforated accessory panels available—and features a lift-off hinge door for simple component configuration. It comes standard with mounting holes, a terminal block power connection for the fan, external mounting feet options and a secure, slotted quarter-turn latch. T1FLO also meets strict UL, NEMA/EEMAC and CSA Type 1 industry standards.
“Previously, the market for fan and filter enclosure packages was fragmented, with each manufacturer developing a customized, home-grown solution for each application,” said Rita Bejjani, Hoffman Commercial Product Manager. “Hoffman took the guesswork out of the process by creating a standard product line with an integrated, thermostatically controlled forced-air ventilation system.” Bejjani adds, “T1FLO provides a ready-to-use thermal management solution without the time, cost and hassle of manual fan installations.”
Applications. T1FLO continuously controls internal enclosure temperature to protect anything from PLCs to drive controls from the risk of overheating, making it an ideal solution for high-load applications with cohabiting technology.
In addition, several features of the T1FLO Type 1 Vented Indoor Enclosure make it particularly effective and easy to use:
Removes heat with active cooling ventilation system
Provides factory-installed fan (115 VAC), vent, filter and thermostat
Resists harsh indoor plant conditions with 14-gauge steel construction
Offers option of solid or perforated accessory panels, with collar studs included for panel mounting
Features lift-off hinge door for easy component configuration
Opens and closes securely with slotted quarter-turn latch (optional latches available)
Includes door gasket and washable, expanded metal filter
Offers grounding provision on door and body
Provides mounting holes on back of enclosure and external mounting feet (also available as an accessory kit)
Includes a multi-tap transformer (120/230/260)
Meets UL 508, Type 1; NEMA/EEMAC and CSA Type 1; IEC 60529 and IP30 industry standards
