The inbound shipping activity for the top 100 Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOs), measured in TEUs, increased by nearly 16% from March to April. The increase comes after a large increase in March; positive news for the NVO business. Compared to April 2011, inbound TEUs for the top NVOs increased by 13.7%.
The majority of NVOs displayed significant increases in April. A standout NVO this month is Apex Shipping, which is ranked third on our list. The NVO increased inbound TEUs by 27.5% from March of this year and by 33.8% from April of last year. Expeditors, the top NVO, saw an increase in TEUs from March, but posted a decrease of 3% from April of last year. Overall, April’s figures show healthy gains for the majority of NVOs.
