TEU imports of the top 100 Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOs) decreased in December by 7.2% from November. On the brighter side, compared to December of 2010, TEUs have risen 7.6%. Total TEUs, for all NVOs in 2011, increased 2.4% from last year and 38.9% from 2009.
Most NVOs are slightly down from November numbers, but are up from December of 2010. Expeditors International topped the list this month; the NVO is down 7.8% from November, but rose 5.5% from December of last year. In the number two spot is Blue Anchor Line which saw a smaller drop of 1.4% from last month, but it too had an increase from last year at almost 11%. Overall, the year ended on a positive note for many of the top NVOs.
