The top 100 NVOs in the United States decreased in imports by 5.3% in February, following an 8.8% increase in January. Compared to last February, imports for the top 100 NVOs increased by nearly 20%. Total TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) imports for the U.S. decreased 5% from January and increased by 15% compared to last February.
Blue Anchor Line was one of the few carriers to see an increase from January, showing a rise of 4%. Expeditors, ranked number one, saw a decrease of nearly 5% from January, but posted an increase of 23% from last February. Apex Shipping saw an unusual decrease of 14% from January’s figures. Overall, 70% of the top 100 NVOs saw a decrease in inbound TEUs from January to February, but only 20% of the NVOs saw a decrease compared to February of 2012.
