The top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) in July of 2014 increased in TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) from June by 1.4 percent and 8.6 percent from July of 2013. Total U.S. imports for July increased again for the month by 2.9 percent from June and 1.2 percent from July of last year.
Out of the top 100 NVOs in July, 59 percent increased in TEUs from June. The top NVO, in terms of U.S. imports for July, is Expeditors International of Washington. Expeditors processed over 37,000 TEUs and increased imports from last month by 2.2 percent, but decreased from last July by 8.4 percent. Blue Anchor Line and Christal Lines were the second and third top NVO in July. Blue Anchor Line increased imports in July from June by 5.8 percent and Christal Lines increased by 7.2 percent. Apex Shipping was ranked as the fourth top NVO in July. The NVO decreased in TEUs from June by 4.3 percent.
