TEUs for the top 100 Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOs) decreased 4.53% from February and 23.64% from March of 2010. More than half of the top 100 NVOs posted negative gains from February and roughly that number also showed negative gains from March of 2010, a noteworthy change from recent months. For all NVOs, March exhibited a significant decrease in TEUs, with the total for all NVOs dropping to levels not seen since February of 2010.
According to Zepol’s data, Blue Anchor Line surpassed Expeditors to top the chart for March; a surprising change as Expeditors has topped the list each month for many years. Despite the low numbers for March, year-to-date shipments for all NVOs are up 9.5% from last year.
