The top 100 NVOs in the United States decreased in imports by 22% from February to March and decreased another 19% from March of 2012. March’s numbers are the second consecutive month of decreases for the top 100 NVOs. Year-to-date for all NVOs, imports by TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) are down 5% compared to last year.
The top ten NVOs posted decreases from last March with the exception of Schenkerocean Limited, which managed to increase TEU imports by 2%. Furthermore, Schenkerocean Limited is the only NVO in the top ten that has a positive figure for year-to-date imports. Expeditors, the number-one ranked NVO, saw a decrease of 15% from February and 16% from last March.
