The top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers) in March were up 6.6 percent from February and up 37 percent from March of 2013 by imported TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units). Total U.S. imports for March were 19 percent higher than March of 2013, which helps explain the huge difference in import volumes for NVOs.
Blue Anchor Line was the top NVO for March, and swapped places with the usual leader, Expeditors International of Washington. Blue Anchor Line processed over 31,000 TEUs and increased volume from last month by 28 percent and another 32 percent from March of last year. Expeditors was number two on the list and processed nearly 30,000 TEUs. It also increased from last month by 10 percent and March of last year by 23 percent. Christal Lines was the third largest NVO in March and increased TEUs from February by 4 percent
