U.S. TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) imports for the top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) increased by 13 percent from April to May and totaled 478,000 TEUs for the month. The top 100 NVOs also inclined in imports from last May by nearly 9 percent. This is much higher than total U.S. imports, which rose 4 percent from April to May and 6 percent from May of 2014.
Out of the top 100 NVOs, 83 percent increased in imports from April to May of this year and 72 percent increased from May of 2014. The top 3 NVOs in the U.S. all posted increases from last month and May of last year. Blue Anchor America Line, the leading NVO, rose by 9 percent from April and 15 percent from last May. Expeditors International, the second-largest NVO, increased by 8 percent from April, and 3 percent from last May. Christal Lines was the ranked third this month and increased from April to May by 11 percent and another 7 percent from last May.
