The top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) in October of 2014 decreased in TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) from September by 1.42 percent but increased 15.61 percent from October of 2013. Total U.S. imports for October increased for the month by 2.18 percent from September and increased 9.45 percent from October of last year.
Out of the top 100 NVOs in October, 57 percent decreased in TEUs from September. The top NVO, in terms of U.S. imports for October, is Expeditors International of Washington. Expeditors processed just under 37,000 TEUs, decreasing imports from last month by 1.91 percent, but increased from October 2013 by 10.82 percent.
Blue Anchor Line and Christal Lines were the second and third top NVO in October. Blue Anchor Line increased imports in October from September by 8.17 percent and Christal Lines decreased by 2.43 percent. Apex Shipping was ranked as the fourth top NVO in October and increased in TEUs from September by 2.71 percent.
