The top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) in September of 2014 increased in TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) from August by 1.42 percent and increased 11.48 percent from September of 2013. Total U.S. imports for September increased for the month by 1.8 percent from August and increased 5.57 percent from September of last year.
Out of the top 100 NVOs in September, 71 percent increased in TEUs from August. The top NVO, in terms of U.S. imports for September, is Expeditors International of Washington. Expeditors processed over 37,000 TEUs, increasing imports from last month by 0.56 percent, and from September 2013 by 10.25 percent. Blue Anchor Line and Christal Lines were the second and third top NVO in September. Blue Anchor Line decreased imports in September from August by 9.74 percent and Christal Lines increased by 4.04 percent. Apex Shipping was ranked as the fourth top NVO in September and decreased in TEUs from August by 0.06 percent.
