Marseilles, June 1st, 2010 - As part of World Environment Day, the CMA CGM Group is organising its own “Environment Days 2010” on the 2nd and 3rd of June.

Following the success of the first “Environment Days” organised last year, CMA CGM has decided to extend this initiative throughout the whole Group, with all the teams, agencies, subsidiaries and vessels joining in, and to reward the best environmental actions by setting up the “Think Ecologic Awards”.

At the Group’s Head Office in Marseilles, conferences will be organised around two main themes: « My own commitment to protect the Environment » and « CMA CGM Actions for the Environment ».

This operation will strengthen the Group's Environment policy, led by the Environment Committee. It will also inform each person of the daily eco-friendly actions that were recommended and publicised throughout 2009. Simple things which have nevertheless enabled the Group to achieve significant savings, one example being the 24% reduction in paper used by Head Office.

For this event, a new internal communication campaign has been launched throughout the CMA CGM network. It emphasizes the Group’s involvement and commitment to preserve the marine environment and develop new economic and ecologically sound transport solutions.

The environment is everyone’s concern at CMA CGM!
