March 3, 2010 - NYK Group will be providing donations and free ocean transport for relief supplies in response to the earthquake that occurred in Chile on February 27. We offer our condolences to those in this area and our wishes for a quick recovery.
Shipments of aid will be coordinated with Japan Platform (JPF),* an international humanitarian assistance organization, through the NYK Group - JPF Joint Aid Supplies Transportation Projects that have been conducted since 2004. Furthermore, the NYK Group has decided to collect donations from employees within the group, and the company will add a “matching gift”** to the collected amount.
NYK Group continues to take an active role in activities that support victims of the natural disasters and benefit society in the company’s effort to remain a benevolent, sustainable, and socially responsible corporate citizen.
