May 14, 2009 - OOCL’s environmental care initiatives are featured in a new "how to" guide written specifically to empower businesses in Hong Kong to reduce their carbon footprints. The Hong Kong Climate Change Business Forum (CCBF), in partnership with the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC), launched the guide on May 14, 2009.
“OOCL is pleased to participate in this guide, which is the first of its kind for Hong Kong. We believe every business in every industry must proactively work to reduce harmful emissions, and business leaders should encourage sustainable economic development through innovative and voluntary measures. This guide provides a comprehensive starting point and excellent information source on the challenges we are all facing, and provides real-life case studies on how leading Hong Kong businesses are meeting these challenges,” said CEO of OOCL, Mr Philip Chow.
Published in both English and Chinese, the guide is the first of its kind to detail the steps that companies in Hong Kong should take to reduce emissions including the business opportunities, return on investments and bottom line savings in doing so. The guide is designed to help businesses respond to reducing emissions in a way that enhances operating efficiency, financial performance and brand leadership.
OOCL encourages our customers, partners and friends to download the guide for valuable tips on how to reduce their carbon footprint. It is available in English and Chinese and can be downloaded free of charge from www.climatechangebusinessforum.com.
