Connie Award will honor deserving industry leaders making extraordinary contributions to the trade and transportation industry
NEWARK, NJ (July 8, 2014) --The Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII) is seeking final nominations for the 2014 annual Connie Award to be held on December 8 in Newark, NJ. Named for the container, the Connie Award has been presented every year since 1972 to those who have made outstanding contributions to the containerization and intermodal industry, including those involved with rail, shipping, ports, importers and exporters, 3PLs, technology, government officials and the media.
The West Coast Connie Award will be presented to Robert A. Curry, Sr., President, CEO and Director of California Cartage Company. Recently retired Dr. Geraldine Knatz will receive the Lifetime Achievement award at the dinner on September 23rd in Long Beach, CA. The dinner will be held at the Hyatt Regency and will be held in conjunction with IANA's Intermodal Expo. Tickets are available for the September 23 dinner.
"With the announcement of Bob Curry and the response we received, CII is seeking nominations with the same caliber on the East Coast," said Michael DiVirgilio, CII President.
In addition to the awards, CII presents scholarships to deserving students studying logistics or transportation.
