Acquisition of California-based producer creates national reach for leading rack systems manufacturing company

July 14, 2009 - Excel Storage Products LP, one of the largest rack systems manufacturers in the United States, continues its growth strategy with the acquisition of the assets of Lodi Metal Tech of Lodi, Calif.

Acquiring Lodi gives Excel the most extensive service network in the industry and enables the company to better serve customers with more competitive product offerings.

The acquisition is part of Excel Storage Products’ strategy to become the market leader in rack systems manufacturing.

With the acquisition of Lodi Metal Tech and the 2007 acquisition of Prest Rack in Brookings, SD, Excel Storage Products’ rack systems manufacturing capacity for retail and industrial customers has doubled. And despite current economic conditions, the company has aggressively recruited and hired industry experts in operations, engineering, estimating, sales, project management and customer service since the beginning of the year.

And within a matter of months, we’ll have completely integrated product and service offerings at all of these locations.”

To accommodate the increased capacity at the Lodi facility, it is expected that 20 to 40 employees will be added.

Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
