Interroll strengthens flow storage business in North America

Sant'Antonino, Switzerland, 13th January 2009. The Interroll Group, global leader in core products for material handling solutions, has acquired BMW Metal Fabrication Inc. in Hiram close to Atlanta, Georgia/USA, effective from February 1st 2009.

The latest strategic move will allow Interroll to accelerate its business activities within the field of high density, energy-saving pallet and carton flow storage solutions in the USA.

This acquisition will provide the Swiss based group with much needed additional manufacturing capacity to further improve service to both existing and new customers.

In acquiring BMW Metal Fabrication Inc., Interroll will further strengthen its market position as the supplier of dynamic storage solutions to the warehouse and distribution sectors in North and Central America. The acquisition will also significantly strengthen Interroll's geographic presence in North America complementing the existing manufacturing facility based near Toronto, Canada, and neutralise the effects of currency fluctuations on imports from Canada.

In addition to taking on the staff Interroll will acquire all assets and customers of the company, which generates annual revenue of approximately two million US dollars. BMW Metal Fabrication Inc. currently operates as a custom manufacturer of material handling components to a range of industries that include Airport, Warehousing and Distribution. Beyond the benefits outlined above, the acquisition will also allow Interroll to leverage economies of scale relating to the production of carton and pallet storage modules.

The companies have agreed not to disclose the acquisition price.
