U.S. TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) imports for the top 100 NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) increased by 7 percent from May to June this year and another 12 percent compared to June of 2014. The leading NVOs accounted for nearly 507,000 imported TEUs in June. This was 28 percent of the total U.S. imports for June, which amounted to over 1.7 million TEUs.
Out of the top 100 NVOs, 72 percent increased in imports from May to June and 76 percent increased from June of 2014. The top three NVOs for June were Expeditors International, Blue Anchor America Line, and Christal Lines, respectively. Expeditors International increased 8 percent from May to June and Christal Lines also increased 13 percent.
