Cary, N.C.—November 25, 2014 (James Street Media Services)—Railinc Corp. announced today that Jerry Traynham was promoted to Chief Information Officer (CIO). Traynham will be responsible for providing the vision and leadership for Railinc's data, product development, and information systems platforms. He will report to Allen West, president and CEO, and will serve on Railinc's executive team.

Traynham joined Railinc in 2005 as a project manager. He has led a number of significant technology projects for Railinc, including the technical reengineering of the Umler® system, which is critical to the daily operations of the North American freight rail industry.
Prior to joining Railinc, Traynham was director of project management and software development at Blue Shoe Technologies. He also has held technology leadership and management positions with Lucent Technologies, AT&T, and Bell Laboratories.
Traynham holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Clemson University.
